A performance about the art of memeing


De Memers is a tribute to all those characteristic images found online – memes. Kluiving explores these humorous images that spread rapidly through platforms like Reddit, Facebook, and Instagram, and he translates them into the realm of theater. Let yourself be carried away into the fascinating world of memes: from political to wholesome memes, from relatable to edgy dank humor. It's a performance for seasoned shitposters and for those who come from the analog era.

De Memers is a quest of heroes and anti-heroes within the kingdom we call the Internet. It's a realm where creativity and digital possibilities battle against censorship and control. The theater becomes a digital-analog laboratory where cutting and pasting happen, physical and digital play coexist. De Memers makes the typical dynamics of constant deconstruction, transformation, and dissemination of creative content (like memes) on the internet visible. With De Memers, Booi creates a unique adventure in his 'digital Memesphere' on the theater stage.
